ASTM A252 Grade 3
ASTM A252 Grade 3
ASTM A252 Grade 3 pipes are each used under different application circumstances. Welding processes are used to create the pipes. In the piling application, A252 Steel Piling Pipe is employed. The material is sturdy, corrosion-resistant, and resistant to wear and tear. Welded pipes are created using electric resistance welding, LSAW, and other welding techniques. Â
The chemical makeup of ASTM A252 Grade 3 Piling Pipe includes carbon, silicon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, and nitrogen. The pipes are used in water, gas, oil, construction, and piling activities to convey low-pressure liquids.

Test for ASTM A252 Grade 3 Steel Piling Pipe
Heat Analysis: Limits for elements P, as well as heat results, should be provided to the client in MTC.
Product Analysis: The pipe diameter determines the test frequency, which is 2 samples every 200 pieces for pipe diameters less than 14 inches, 2 samples per 100 pieces for pipe diameters 14 to 36 inches, and 2 samples per 3000 feet for pipe diameters greater than 36 inches.
Tensile Requirements: The aforesaid tensile and yield strength values must be reached. It should be noted that if a vague yield point is obtained, then test yield strength corresponding to a permanent offset of 0.2 percent of the gage length of the sample specimen, or test a total extension of 0.5 percent of the gage length under load.
Tolerance for ASTM A252 Grade 3 Steel Piling Pipe
Wall thickness: Not less than 12.5 % of the required nominal wall thickness.
Weights per foot: The weight of each particular length of ASTM A252 Grade 3 pipe should not fluctuate by more than 15% above or 5% below the stated weight. Each length must be weighed individually.
Outside diameter: The diameter should not deviate more than 1% from the stipulated specification.
