P195TR1
EN10217 P195TR1
EN10217-1 P195TR1 steel pipe grade is welded steel tubes for pressure purposes in the technical delivery condition specified in the European Standard. This European Standard applies to welded circular tubes made of non-alloy and alloy steels with specified elevated temperature properties, The name of this pipe refers to its minimum yield strength in MPa stressful during manufacture. This welded steel pipe has good weldability and is suitable for different welding processes, such as fusion welding and resistance welding. This carbon steel pipe is mostly used in boilers, heat exchangers, and other high-temperature equipment and pipelines. According to the technical requirements of different standards, it can also be used in ships, vehicles, bridges, construction, and other general welded structures. Therefore, this welded pipe is a very versatile product that can be widely used in many fields.

EN10217 P195TR1 Welding Steel Name Designated
- P195TR1 the capital letter P for pressure purposes;
- P195TR1 is the indication of the specified minimum yield strength for thicknesses less than or equal to 16mm;
- The alphanumeric TR1 for qualities with no specified aluminum content, impact properties, and specific inspection and testing requirements.
Appearance of EN 10217-1 P195TR1 Pipes
- Weld Seam
The weld area of an EN 10217-1 pipe must be free of cracks, lack fusion, and lack of penetration. If there are any issues with the weld area, the entire pipe must be scrapped. Repairs to the weld seam of EW and HFW tubes are not permitted. However, repairs to the weld seam of SAW tubes may be allowed if done by an agreed documented procedure. This is to ensure that the final product is up to par and will not cause any issues down the line. Quality control is essential when it comes to welding, and this standard ensures that only the best products are being put out on the market.
- Tube Surface
As specified in EN 10217-1, the surface of pipes must be free from any defects that can be detected by visual examination. This includes surface imperfections that require dressing, such as grinding or machining. However, it is permissible to dress these areas provided that the wall thickness in the dressed area is not less than the specified minimum wall thickness. All dressed areas must blend smoothly into the contour of the tube. Any surface imperfection that is deeper than 5% of the wall thickness or 3mm, whichever is smaller, must be dressed.

Marking to be Applied on EN 10217-1 P195TR1 Pipes
In order to ensure the safety and quality of welded steel tubes, manufacturers are required to mark each tube with pertinent information. This includes the manufacturer’s name or logo, the type of tube (EW, HFW, SAWL or SAWH), the standard number (EN 10217-1), and the steel name or grade. For tubes with an outside diameter over 51mm, this information must be provided on a label or tag that is securely attached to the bundle or box. The label or tag must also identify the tube diameter, wall thickness, and length range. By providing this information, welded steel tubes can be properly identified and traced back to their manufacturer in the event of any issues.
